Floor cloths for Christmas gifts.

    This year I decided to make many of my Christmas gift. For my Mom, 2 sister inlaws and my 2 nieces I painted floor cloths for their homes. We had our Christmas with the family early in SC at my brothers. It was a lot of fun and everyone loved the floor cloths. I really enjoyed the look on their faces because I painted them to go along with thier decor.

My Winter Wonderland

  Merry Christmas to all. I always enjoy decorating for Christmas although I don't use the traditional red and Green colors. I love white for my family room because I love shabby chic and also it feels like a white wonderland. I love it at night and having all the Christmas lights on and the fire going. It is so cozy. In my Kitchen since it is purple I decorate in purple. I have had this color for 15 year and I am not a bit tired of it. It makes me smile.

Timmmmmmmberrrrrrrr!

Around 4:30 Saturday afternoon one of our top heavy Bradford Pear trees split and fell in the middle of our front yard. There goes our relaxing weekend!!!! My husband Wes and I went out right away to start cutting some of the branches and tying them up. We worked about an hour. Sunday was suppose to rain and we really need the rain BUT if it could hold off till we get the rest cleaned up would be great. We were lucky when we woke up this morning with no rain. We started at 9 am with the help of a friend of my daughters and our neighbor who had the chain saw with his two young sons. My daughter Hilary came out to help before she had to go to work. It made it kind of fun with all the help. We got it all cleaned up within 2 hrs. Now I hope the county comes to pick it all up. We are so thankful for all the help and having wonderful friends and neighbors. I think the Bradford Pear Trees are beautiful but I will never have them again. I'm sure this isn't the last time we will be cleaning up after them. Now time to put ice on the back and take some pain killers! LOL!!!!!

The Great Danes are growing up and I mean UP!

  I wondered if you remember seeing pictures when they were 8 weeks old. Well they are now 10 months and sooo big. Dominc is our boy and much bigger and calmer. Lexi is just a little hyper and playful.  She is a small Dane and we had her ears cropped when she was a couple months old. It is crazy when they go out to play. They run and jump on each other. Oh yes and don't forget the slim! My yard does not look as nice as it once did because my big puppies have dug hole and turned up some of the grass from running and chasing each other. The joys of 100 plus lb dogs.  People ask if they are allowed in the house. YES, they are house dogs but because they are too playful with each other they can't be in the same room. You've seen pictures of my house! Too much glass and pretties. They are going to school now to learn some commands. They are learning fast but it's up to us to keep them in practice. My four Shih Tzu's are okay with the Danes and they make sure that they follow all the rules in the house. Yes, there are six dogs. Tell me I'm crazy! We do have a routine which helps.

The trip to the Mtns with the Art Class

This trip to the mtns with some of the girls from our Art Class was so much fun. Thanks to our wonderful teacher Diana that provided us with her sons mtn home. It was so nice to have coffee on the back deck and it felt like we were in a tree house. The view was fantastic. Beautiful sun sets too.
